The CBRS Funders’ Coalition gathered for its second annual meeting, bringing together 25 representatives of 24 research funding organizations in the brain and mental health ecosystem, including local, provincial and federal entities, health charities and other non-profits, industry partners, and private foundations. The organizations in the coalition represent more than 1,300 grants and $340 million in current funding to brain and mental health research. The meeting provided a collaborative platform for insightful discussions and networking, and reinforced our shared commitment to advancing brain and mental health research across the country.
SHARED STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
There continues to be strong alignment of programs in the funding organizations’ current and future funding priorities with CBRS’ six strategic priorities: Open Science, Diversity & Team Science, Neuroethics, Platform Science, Brain-AI Interface, and Transdisciplinary Training. Leveraging the coalition’s strengths and CBRS’ role as a convenor and activator, we will be hosting focused meetings for funders in the upcoming year to cultivate collaborative innovation and propel progress in strategic priority areas.
